Whitechapel 3: Putting the pieces together

Here we are 3 weeks in and already there is loads of information out there, especially about filming locations.  Isn’t it wonderful?

Have you been keeping up?   Don’t worry, this post is an attempt to summarise the key points so far!  Keep reading because there is a treat at the bottom of the post.

All the tweets (and more) can be found in RegardingRPJ favourites

There are no spoilers as such.  I don’t have any idea about the first storyline, despite Rupert Penry-Jones tweeting picture clues.

Rupert’s tweets

It seems only right to start with Rupert’s fabulous tweets.  My iPad has a sweet application called Flipbook and these screenprints have been taken from there.

As we all know, actors lead very glamorous lives and Rupert has generously shared that glamour with us.

A glamourous location

Wonderful facilities

Hair salon to the stars

No comments about smiling from me.

Storyline

We’ve been told the scene of the crime is a tailor’s shop.  Filming at the Rio cinema involved peeling back layers of history and there are lots of police.

Miles and Chandler are on the case and they wear some rather fetching outfits.   There is loads of blood and some poor victims.  Miles prepares to catch the bad guy by playing a little scrabble!

Chandler has been crawling under floorboards and someone’s car has had a bit of an accident.

David Schneider appears in this block too, and does some wrestling

This extract from the script comes is from Brit Movies Tours FaceBook.

We also know from the script extract (above) there is a wedding and the cast were seen in a Crouch End pub when someone was getting married

Locations

Thanks to Rupert and especially the good people of Twitter we know that there has been filming in

Stepney G

reen

Brick Lane

New Inn Yard (EC2)

Green Lanes

Islington

The Rio Cinema

Avenue Road, Crouch End

There have been loads of night shoots, so it’s no surprise that Rupert is tired

And finally……..  I figure if you have got this far down the post you deserve a treat and hidden away on the Brit Movie Tours Facebook site are a load of pics from week 1 of filming.  I’ve posted the photo of the script in the storyline section above.

Thank you to Brit Movies Tours for some fabulous pictures.  And ooh (shallow end), Rupert’s hair looks good for this series.

Would it be too much if I asked you for the original-sized selfie of Rupert and Phil with the description “Whitechapel 3 coming soon”?
Seems that Rupert had deleted the picture from his Twitter (as he always do), leaving this photo nowhere to be found.
